It’s No Picnic! // Casual Blues and Whites

April was such a lovely month filled with short weeks and amazing, sunny weather. During one of my long weekends, we went on a picnic at our local national park and this is what I wore. I can’t pass up any opportunity to bring out my Hunters, and with shorts, they are a dream team – super flattering on the pins. We also can’t forget the all important sun protection pieces and these sunglasses and wool felt hat are my go to autumn combo. Does anyone find it such a struggle to figure out what your hair should look like under hats?!?! I think I solved my problem with this side braid. I haven’t braided my hair like this for years but I love how it looks tied off half way with a loosely done ribbon.

Wearing: Forever New Wool Hat / Marcs Striped Shirt (last seen here and here, similar here) / Oscar Wylee ‘Bryce’ Sunnies in rose gold (also available in matte black) / Sportscraft Straw Tote (last seen here, very similar here) / Swell Bandana via Surfstitch (c/o – last seen here)/ J.Crew Chino Shorts (last seen here) / Hunter Navy Adjustable Calf Rainboots (last seen here) / Dotti Waffle Knit Sweater (last seen here) //

There are so many sassy straw totes available on the market now. Despite the inevitable fact that we are truly in the midst of autumn, how can you pass up navy stripes, pom poms, eyelet and tassels?! Large and roomy, they are perfect for filling up to the brim with wine, cheese and tons of books for a lazy day by the coast.
